Advanced Professional Certificate Course Curriculum

Terrorism Studies Certificate Of The Roman Institute for International Studies

Study with team of experts and professionals to acquire professional training in the study of extremist groups and states that utilize the tactics of terrorism, and in the policy instruments available to counter terrorism.

Students in the Terrorism Studies Certificate program take terrorism-related courses, national security and intelligence Studies,seminars, and workshops taught by professionals of this great Institution’s Faculty who are recognized internationally for their expertise on terrorism and ideological extremism.

Overview

The Institute’s Terrorism Certificate Course requires a total of three months and 20 credits, focuses on the study of violence-prone extremist groups and their historical evolution, ideological motivations, organizational structure, demographic profile, operational methods, and potential interest in carrying out mass casualty attacks, including the acquisition and use of weapons of mass destruction (WMD).

Students currently enrolled in a degree program can apply to the certificate program and must complete the credits in addition to their degree Certificates. Non-degree students can apply for the Proficiency and Basic certificates. Individuals interested in professional Advance certificate should have a recent undergraduate or advanced degree in international relations, science, engineering, Criminology , Peace and Conflict, Sociology, law, or related fields. Those with prior professional work experience and/or selected course work in non-proliferation, terrorism studies, international security, or related fields may also apply.

Study In Person and/or Online

Our courses are available in person and online. Please note that many of your online courses will be live (synchronous) so you will have to keep time zones in mind. The faculty, curriculum, and per-credit cost are the same for both formats so you will have the flexibility to study online or in person, or easily switch between the two experiences as your personal and professional needs allow.
